Worthy

Welcome to our Journal. This is our forum for bringing to you things we think are cool or deem worthy of your attention. Some of it will be relevant to our 1960’s creative origin. Others will have no connection, just things we run across that we like. We’ll update it whenever we feel inspired or feel guilty of blog–neglect.

Neutra School
Generations of lucky Los Angeles middle school students have passed notes and played paper football in a school designed by famed architect Richard Neutra. Ralph Waldo Emerson Middle School in Westwood was completed in 1938 and considered a leading example of early Modernism. All classrooms have large glass and steel sliding doors that extend to outside spaces - a classic Neutra touch.

We found this Neutra drawing of a classroom and then a picture of an Emerson outdoor class circa 1960 - Neutra’s vision being realized.

Go see the school of Neutra at 1650 Selby Avenue, Los Angeles CA.
